Signitel PBX Phone Systems
A PBX phone system is much more vulnerable than a traditional land line office phone system. A physical wire tapping is much more difficult to do than to obtain a protocol analyzer. An encryption helps protect you against snoopers, whether they’re from the government, competitors, or anyone else who shouldn’t be messing around in your business.
It’s relatively easy to install once you purchase encryption hardware. Once you have the encryption hardware, you can start by encrypting your hard drives, files, laptops, removable media, email (which is already encrypted if you use Microsoft Outlook Express) and IMs. This secures all of your data, which for many companies with a PBX phone system is valuable and if stolen, could be used against them.
To protect your PBX phone system you can choose from companies Zfone, an easy piece of software to download and use, although it only works if the receiving end has installed it too. Internal Encryption like that used by Skype is already installed. TLS and IPsec are other options for encrypting your office phone system.
Some helpful hints: don’t lose or forget your passwords. Be aware that as with any program, this will use space on your computer and perhaps slow down your processor.
